Jamison Participates in Ready to Run
Judge Terri Jamison, Beryl Brown Piccolantonio, Beth Wagner Liston and Beth Kowalczyk gave campaign tips and related their experiences in running for positions on School Board, House of Representatives, City Council, and Judge. The panel were all women who had persevered to win their respective seats. The panel also discussed the challenges of fund raising, balancing family and career, and running for re-election while holding the office. The panelists varied from being novices in the political arena to those who grew up in politics.
The women fielded questions from the attendees that explained their reasons for being in public service. Jamison shared, "Fund raising is my least favorite part of campaigning, but I loved being in the community meeting the voters, but I ran a grass roots campaign on a shoe string budget." Other panelists expressed that their campaigns were very well funded. They all had the common desire to be in public service which fueled them through the time leading up to the vote. She said, "It was great to be on the Ready to Run panel and learn from other elected officials who believe like I do, women who collaborate to do the job and impact their community."
